James Leese

I am an artist, and an architectural illustrator. My earlier years I was an architect, a planner, and an urban designer. I relocated to Southwest Florida after more than 30 years of practice in the Denver and Kansas City areas. My experience includes urban design, planning, and architecture specializing in urban mixed-use, residential apartments and loft condominiums, mixed-use parking garages in urban centers, and other urban core building types. While in Denver, I was a key participant in the design of a considerable number of urban and downtown projects many located in Denver and Boulder, Colorado, Kansas City, San Diego, and Ithaca, New York, many of them award-winning.

I also drafted the downtown guidelines for Lower Downtown Denver and Bonita Springs Downtown Redevelopment Area. I served on the City of Boulder (Colorado) Planning Board and the Boulder Downtown Design Review Board where we wrote and adopted the design guidelines (Consultant: Winter & Company of Boulder).

I bring a broad perspective of interests and talents to any project and in my 40-plus years of practice and I have been involved in a variety of development projects in both the public and private sectors. I also taught several courses at the University of Colorado at Boulder’s School of Architecture and Planning. Most recently I have taken up art and architectural illustration applying the professional knowledge and the many skills I have accumulated over the years.

Presently, I am practicing as an planning-urban design consultant as well as undertaking architectural illustration and graphic services supporting the design professions.

My searches for my Truth began, like for so many, with the drama of September 11, 2001, although I probably didn't recognize it at the time. This led me to meeting my Significant Other, who led me to Unity, which led me to all kinds of explorations, which, eventually led me to The Urantia Book about three years ago. This then led me to Jim Cleveland's books and CDs, Donna's work, and my involvement with the Teaching Mission Network. We have been in southwest Florida since 2004
